writing competitions for prose & poetry

Americana: The Institute for the Study of American Popular Culture invites you to submit poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction/memoir for PRIZE AMERICANA.

We believe that creative writers create our future popular culture, record our history, and thus must be supported as they express the hopes, dreams, struggles, and challenges of their age.

Bloomsbury Publishing, Inc. will be launching a new digital fiction imprint called Bloomsbury Spark that will be targeted to teens and crossover adult readers. The imprint is due to launch later this year, and we are holding an open call for submissions.

The Cincinnati Review will soon be accepting entries for the 2013 Robert and Adele Schiff Awards in Prose and Poetry. One poem and one prose piece (fiction or creative nonfiction) will be chosen for publication in our 2014 prize issue, and the two winners will each receive $1,000.
